Rancon Foundry: Nonferrous alloys (bronze, brass, aluminium) and Ferrous alloys (steel, grey cast iron)

The Way We Work

Moulding

The moulding and casting operations are run on a semi-mechanized technological line; the moulding is prepared in a modern Omega-type installation, using washed dry quartz sand bonded with furan resins.

Sporadically manual moulding can be used in mixtures of sand bonded with sodium silicate or bentonite.

Melting

The melting of refractory alloys is made in electric furnaces heated by induction, with a capacity of 300 kg each. The development of easily fusible alloys is made in electric furnaces or flame furnaces.

The chemical composition is determined with a spectral analyser.

Casting

For some nonferrous parts we apply static casting in metal moulds, centrifugal casting on horizontal or vertical axis, and high-pressure casting.

Machinery and equipment

  • Electric melting furnace with induction field
  • High-pressure casting machine
  • Metalscan 2500 spectrometer for checking alloys composition
  • Lathes, milling, drilling, grinding, gear cutting equipment
